Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Stowmarket
£35,000 – £38,000 + Overtime Available

We are recruiting on behalf of our valued client for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a growing operation based in Stowmarket. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a new maintenance team from the very beginning, helping to support installation, maintenance, and continuous improvement across the site.
This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in keeping machinery and equipment running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and plant machinery
• Diagnose faults and respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and daily inspections
• Work from technical drawings and engineering documentation
• Assist with machinery installation and commissioning
• Support continuous improvement activities across the site
• Report maintenance findings, repairs, and corrective actions
• Work collaboratively within the maintenance team
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety standards

Requirements
• Proven mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Strong hands-on mechanical skills
• Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, conveyors, and rotating equipment
• Ability to use workshop tools and machinery confidently
• Comfortable reading technical drawings and taking accurate measurements
• Mechanical qualifications or relevant engineering background preferred
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Salary & Benefits
• Up to £38,000 annual salary
• Monday to Friday: 08:00am – 4:30pm
• Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate
• 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
